A cool photo of me

Having been a mom for a few years now, and all moms know this, the instances in which your photo is taken are very few. You are usually the one behind the camera.

So, thanks to fellow Dreamers into Doers who snapped some really cool photos of me.

Donation drop off

Just came back from Safe Horizon, after a donation drop off. The traffic was awful, to say the least. And to make matters worse, they've changed the traffic patterns on me, so most of the streets are no longer available to drivers, there is no parking, or standing for that matter... Not even for a donation drop off. I've always had misgivings about Tribeca as a place to live. Why would anyone choose to live there now, is beyond me. Well, all is well that ends well. The pillows are safe in the hands of Kristine Widulski, Safe Horizon's Senior Director for Major and Planned Gifts and I managed not to get a ticket. Awesome!

Update

Preparations are going full steam ahead. A lot of coordinating and a lot of schedules to align, but everyone is so excited about this event, we hardly notice all the work.

We have visitors for the next few weeks, so my updates might not be as frequent, but I will try to keep you posted on all the new developments.

Here's for an amazing start of the New Year!

Woolly Boo and Martha. Yes, THAT Martha

January 4, 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Selma Avdicevic (917) 975-9034

Local Entrepreneur, Selma Avdicevic, is part of Martha Stewart’s “The Sisterhood of Dreamers into Doers” Safe Horizon Shelter Event in NYC

On January 19, 2010, 40 women from around the U.S. who are part of the "Dreamers Into Doers" social networking group at MarthaStewart.com will make a difference at one of the Safe Horizon shelters, a New York City’s and nation’s largest provider of residences for the victims of domestic violence. The goal of the event is to transform the residence into a place of hope, peace, and possibilities.

Each "Dreamer" will share her time, talents, and products at this event. Ms. Avdicevic will be donating some of her Woolly Boo® organic wool products. The goal is to inspire the women and children in the residence to follow their dreams and to take steps to make them a reality. Other participants in the group will donate their time, like interior designer Terry Grahl, the founder of Enchanted Makeovers, and one of the event organizers.

The official kick off event will be held at Martha Stewart Show Studios in New York City.

You can also help the Dreamers by donating items on their dream list, http://www.terrysenchantedcottage.com/dynamic/?page=87
